Characteristics and Applications of Non-woven Fabrics for Cables
Author:
Cable non-woven fabric is plain non-woven fabric, lightweight non-woven fabric, thin non-woven fabric, colored white, suitable for rubber-sheathed cables, power cables, special cables, communication cables, etc. The thickness of cable non-woven fabric is relatively thin, lightweight, cost-effective, and has good flexibility, making it suitable for various wire and cable wrapping.
1. Characteristics of Cable Non-Woven Fabric
Cable non-woven fabric has good tensile strength, good breathability, good elongation rate, can achieve a water absorption speed of 0, high-temperature resistance, and a smooth and rounded surface after cabling. It is environmentally friendly, free of heavy metal harmful substances, and halogen-free. Cable non-woven fabric can withstand temperatures of up to 180 degrees without melting or deforming, and it has excellent corrosion resistance, capable of withstanding vulcanization.
Non-woven fabric features a uniform and flat surface, small thickness deviation, high tensile strength, and a neat appearance. Additionally, the cable wrapping tape has the main characteristics of being lightweight, high breaking strength, good elongation rate, and low shrinkage rate. Polyester non-woven fabric is suitable for rubber-sheathed cables, power cables, special cables, communication cables, coaxial cables, audio stage cables, and optical cables, and has become a conventional covering material in the global cable industry.
2. Applications of Cable Non-Woven Fabric
Due to the aging resistance and high-temperature resistance characteristics of cable non-woven fabric, it is widely used in home textiles, composite materials, luggage materials, etc. Non-woven fabric can be used as cable covering material, with high strength and good high-temperature performance (can be used long-term in environments of 150℃). It is mainly used in building materials for wall insulation and soundproofing, wall foundation waterproofing, pipeline protection, underground drainage, and preventing tree roots from damaging buildings.
Currently, the main products produced by domestic production lines include geotextiles, engineering seepage prevention materials, building waterproof materials, composite reinforcement materials, automotive fabrics, cushioning materials, and chemical sheets for shoes. With the continuous development of economic construction in our country, non-woven fabric has an optimistic development prospect.
Others: power cables, rubber-sheathed cables, control cables, marine cables, mining cables, communication optical cables, locomotive cables, nuclear cables, welding machine cables, high-end flexible cables for computer air conditioning, etc. In addition, there are halogen-free flame-retardant non-woven fabrics for cables.
